Referrals · 10% for 12 months · no cap

The best leads we get are introductions. So we pay for them.

You already tell people who to use. This is the version where you get paid for it. One rate across every service, paid monthly on money we actually collect, for a full year.

One rate

10%

of everything they pay us

from their first paid invoice

No cap

the first pays like the tenth

The deal · one sentence, no asterisk

10% of everything a business you refer pays us, for their first 12 months.

Not 10% of the website and something else on the retainer. Not a tier you unlock after three. One number, every service, every invoice, for a year, because a deal you cannot repeat from memory over coffee is a deal nobody repeats.

01

Websites, search, ads, same rate

Build, migration, hosting, local and AI search, ad management. If they pay us for it, you earn on it.

02

Paid on what clears, not what we bill

30 days after their money reaches us, with the invoice attached so you can check the arithmetic.

03

Cash, or 1.5× as credit

ACH to whoever the W-9 names. If you are a client, take it as credit instead and it is worth half again as much.

What it pays · Your numbers

Move the sliders. That's the cheque.

Put in what you think the business you have in mind actually spends. One referred client is usually worth more than a month of whatever you are being paid to think about this.

$0$30,000
$0$15,000/mo

On the one-off work

$600

Paid once, 30 days after their first invoice clears.

On 12 months of retainer

$2,400

Arrives monthly, with the invoice it came from.

Per referred client

$3,000

Or $4,500 as credit against your own invoices.

Your numbers, not ours. We quote after the audit, so there is no price list to paste in here. Commission is calculated on what the client pays GoLumin and never on ad spend passed through to Google or Meta.

Who refers · The people who send them

You are probably already doing this for nothing.

Nobody on this list set out to be a marketing salesperson. They are just the person who gets asked the question, because they are already trusted with something adjacent.

01 · You already do this for nothing

Clients we've already earned it from

You have seen the work, you know what we bill, and you are the referral a prospect actually believes. Take cash, or take it as credit on your own invoice at 1.5×.

02 · Keep the design work, hand off the rest

Designers and freelancers

You build beautiful sites and have no interest in running someone's Google Ads, chasing their Maps listing or answering a call about a broken form at 9pm. Hand that part over and keep the client relationship.

03 · You get asked anyway

IT providers and MSPs

You are already the person a local business calls when something digital breaks, which means you are asked about the website constantly. It is not your line of work, but the referral is worth real money.

04 · You can see the wasted spend

Accountants, bookkeepers and fractional CFOs

You see the marketing line on the P&L and you know exactly which clients are lighting money on fire with an agency that cannot show them a lead. You are the most credible referrer on this list.

05 · Send the half you don't want

Agencies with a gap

An SEO shop with no paid arm. A paid shop that will not touch a CMS. A branding studio that does not build. Send the part you do not want; we do not go after the part you do.

06 · Your members keep asking who to use

Chambers, franchisors and trade groups

You have a membership that all needs the same three things and keeps asking you who to use. A standing arrangement with terms you can publish to members is a straightforward one to set up.

How it runs · Four steps

Make the intro. That's your part.

  1. 01

    Send the intro

Use the form, forward an email, or just copy us in. We need the business name and a way to reach someone who can make a decision. That registers it to you for 90 days.

  2. 02

    We do the audit

Same audit everyone gets: read-only access, real findings, a person walking them through it. They keep the findings whether or not they hire us. No hard sell, because your name is on this introduction.

  3. 03

    They sign, or they don't

You hear which, from us, either way. If they were already in our pipeline we tell you within a day rather than letting you wonder.

  4. 04

    You get paid

10% of every invoice they pay, for 12 months, sent 30 days after their money clears. Monthly, by ACH, with the invoice it came from attached.

Your name · What happens to them

A referral spends your credibility, not ours.

The reason people stop referring is not the money. It is the one time they sent a friend somewhere and had to hear about it afterwards. So here is exactly what the person you introduce walks into.

A audit, and they keep it

Read-only access to what they already have. Real findings, written down, theirs whether or not they hire us.

A person on the phone, not a deck

Someone who has read their account walks them through it. No pitch built before we looked.

No pressure, and no pipeline games

If we are not the right fit we say so on that call. We would rather lose one introduction than the next nine.

You hear back either way

Signed, stalled or passed, from us, not from you having to ask them how it went.

They never find out what you earned

The commission is between you and us. Nothing on their invoice mentions it unless you want it to.

The rules · Before you ask

The small print, printed large.

Every line here is an argument somebody has had with a referral programme before. Better to settle them on a page you can re-read than in an email six months in.

Register it before we talk to them
An introduction is yours from the day you make it, for 90 days. If they come to us cold first and you register them afterwards, it is not a referral, and we will tell you that on the day rather than at invoice time.
Paid on money collected, never on money invoiced
If a client never pays, there is nothing to share. We are not going to pay you for revenue we did not receive, and you would not want us to fund it out of the next one.
Never on ad spend
Commission is on what the client pays GoLumin. Media budget passes straight through to Google, Meta and Microsoft. We do not mark it up and we do not pay commission on it. A $40,000 ad budget is not $4,000 to you, and any programme that says otherwise is lying to one of you.
Twelve months, then it stops
The 10% runs for 12 months from their first paid invoice. If they leave in month four, you keep everything paid to that point and the rest simply stops. Nothing is clawed back.
Cash or credit, your call
ACH in US dollars, or, if you are a client, 1.5× the cash value as credit against your own invoices. The credit is worth more; the cash is yours to spend. Over $600 in a year we will need a W-9 and will issue a 1099-NEC.
No self-dealing, no brand bidding
You cannot refer a business you own or control, and you cannot bid on GoLumin's brand terms or dress up as us to collect. This is an introduction programme between people, not an affiliate link.
You are not the middleman
After the introduction you are out of the loop unless you want to be in it. You will not be forwarded scoping threads, and we will not use you to chase an invoice.
Regulated · Legal and healthcare

If you're an attorney or a provider, a percentage is the wrong instrument.

We work with law firms and with clinics, so this comes up. Percentage-of-revenue referral fees paid to attorneys are governed by state bar rules, and arrangements involving healthcare providers can implicate the federal Anti-Kickback Statute. Those are real constraints, not paperwork, and we are not going to quietly hand you a number that creates a problem for your licence.

What we offer instead

A flat fee at fair market value for a defined service, not a share of what the referred client spends, in a written agreement your compliance counsel reviews before anyone signs. Ask on the form and we will send the paper rather than a rate.

None of this is legal advice, and we are not your counsel. Run any arrangement past your own before you enter it.

Questions · First call

Asked before the first introduction.

What actually counts as a referral?

A named introduction to a real decision-maker: a warm email, a call, a form submission with their details. Not a list of leads, not a scraped spreadsheet. It is registered to you for 90 days from the day you make it.

When do I get paid?

30 days after each of their invoices clears, then monthly for 12 months. Every payment comes with the invoice it was calculated from, so you can check the maths yourself.

What if they only buy a website and never come back?

Then you earn 10% of the build and hosting, and that is the end of it. One rate on everything is the whole point. There is nothing to read twice and nothing that pays out differently depending on which service they picked.

Do I have to be a client to refer someone?

No. Most of the best referrers are not clients. They are the accountant, the designer or the IT provider who gets asked the question. Clients get the one extra option: credit instead of cash, at 1.5× the value.

What happens to the person I send us?

They get the same audit as anyone else: read-only access, findings they keep either way, and a person on the phone rather than a deck. Your name is attached to that introduction, so we treat it as yours to protect.

Is there a cap?

No cap, and no tier you have to hit before anything pays out. The first referral pays at the same rate as the tenth.

What if they were already talking to you?

We will tell you within one business day. If they have been in an active conversation with us in the last 90 days, it is not a referral, and you will hear that from us immediately rather than discovering it when nothing arrives.

I'm an attorney, or I work in healthcare. Can I take a percentage?

No, and we would rather say so up front. Percentage-of-revenue referral fees are restricted by state bar rules for attorneys and can implicate the federal Anti-Kickback Statute where healthcare providers are involved. Regulated referrers are offered a flat fee at fair market value, in a written agreement your compliance counsel signs off. Ask and we will send the paper.

Can my company be the referrer rather than me personally?

Yes, and for most people it should be. Payment goes wherever the W-9 says: your business, your LLC, or you.
